Aunt Kathy Comes To Visit

by on Sunday, February 12, 2012 6:01 pm

Jefferson’s Aunt Kathy (my sister) came to visit us for a while. She’s on the right, Jefferson’s in the middle, and I’m the pregnant hairy one on the left.

Jefferson had a lot of fun with her while she was here.

Here’s a 30 second video of Kathy singing to Jefferson. Paula joins halfway through for a duet.

Over the last month Jefferson has developed a new hobby; sock wearing. He will grab my feet and demand to wear my socks.  They are more like leg warmers for him, but he enjoys them.

After about two minutes they start to slide off his feet, making him slip and trip on the floor. So I pull them up for him. Repeat. Until he gets tired of them sliding down and tries to yank them off. One day science will perfect socks for small children and another of Jefferson’s dreams will be fulfilled!

He’s learning to sit at child size table, and even regularly pulling his chair up so he can eat properly. I am oddly encouraged by this practice. We’ll civilize him yet.

Hes also learning the art of invisibility. He likes to run and hide so no one can find him! Can you see him in these pictures?

Of course not! The trick is to sing “Where is Peanut, where is Peanut?” Then he will reveal himself and you sing “There he is, there he is!”

Compare and contrast the photos below. He is completely invisible on the left, and revealed on the right.
